Tyler studied music and psychology at Dartmouth, and planned to be either a singer/actor or a psychologist. He was called to the ministry in his junior year of college, and graduated from Dartmouth in 20003. Upon graduating, he worked for 3 years as an intern at Calvary-St George's, where he was involved in many areas of church ministry, including Alpha, the Calvary Food Pantry, the St. George's Soup Kitchen, the homeless shelter and the young adult fellowship meetings. He also served as a personal assistant to the clergy.

Following Calvary-St. George's, Tyler entered Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University in 2006, where he attended seminary. He graduated in June, 2009 with a diploma in ministry, the British equivalent of a M. Div. On December 12, 2009 Tyler was ordained to the deaconate. He presently serves as the youth minister for the parish and leads a youth Bible study group as part of St. George's Sunday School program He also assists in worship services and in organizing various prayer groups during the week.

Today, in addition to serving part time as a deacon and youth minister at Calvary-St. George's, Tyler works full-time at a youth ministry called FOCUS NYC, which reaches out to kids in the private school population in New York.

Tyler loves cooking, especially for friends, and, as a former varsity tennis player and soccer aficionado, loves sports. He is currently planning his wedding with his fiancée, Audrey Headland, who he will marry on September 5, 2010. He cannot wait!
